The level of road traffic safety is of global interest as reported by the World Health Organization. On road safety, 1.24 million people die every year on roads around the world.
The interest of many international organizations regarding road traffic safety was also reported during the UNI general assembly in the document "Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020".
Among the numerous objectives of the global plan published for the "Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020" report is the focus on the prevention of road accidents which aims to reduce fatal accidents by 2020.
The Global Plan envisages the international adoption of strategies and actions that should include the promotion and support of initiatives aimed at Road Safety Management with the requirements of the international standard ISO 39001: 2016 Road Traffic Safety RTS Management System.
Road safety is a common responsibility; the implementation in the structure of the system for the management of road safety based on ISO 39001 allows to achieve results and contributes to the prevention of risk regarding serious accidents, fatal accidents caused by road traffic.
